Netanyahu declares destruction of 50 towers in Gaza, indicates preparations for large-scale ground operation

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Sept. 08 (YPA) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, on Monday, that Israeli forces had destroyed about 50 towers in Gaza City over the past two days that they said were being used for “terrorist” purposes, stressing that this represented only the beginning of a broader ground operation in the Strip.

Netanyahu added addressing the residents of Gaza: “I have warned you before. Listen carefully to the instructions,” referring to previous calls to evacuate some areas.

He indicated that Israeli forces are currently organizing and gathering inside Gaza City in preparation for carrying out ground maneuvers, in a move observers describe as a prelude to a new phase of military escalation.

There has been no official comment from Palestinian authorities regarding the Israeli statements or whether there are plans to change civilian movements in the city.
