Republic of San Marino intends to recognize Palestine

SANAA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr.Farsin Aghabakian Shahin held a high-level meeting with San Marino Minister of Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari, in the presence of Ambassador Mona Abu Amara, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Italy and the Republic of San Marino, and Father Ibrahim Faltas, Deputy Custos of the Holy Land, as part of her official visit to the Republic of San Marino,

During the meeting, Minister Beccari affirmed his country’s commitment to move towards official recognition of the State of Palestine during the two-state solution peace conference scheduled to be held in New York at the end of next September, stressing the importance of developing bilateral cooperation between the two countries and opening a San Marino embassy in Palestine in the future.

He also expressed his country’s deep concern over the tragic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, calling for intensified international efforts to stop the war and deliver urgent humanitarian aid.
