UAE-backed forces crack down on festival in Shabwa

SHABWA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – Authorities affiliated with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Shabwa province deployed an armed campaign today to suppress an event organized by the “Al-Karama Peaceful Movement” in the coastal district of Radum.

A local informed source confirmed that dozens of armed personnel, transported in military vehicles, were sent to disperse a festival called by the Movement for residents of the Al-Waadi areas. The gathering was planned to take place in Radum market, near the Balhaf gas facility.

The source added that the movement’s leadership decided to postpone the event to avoid any clashes with UAE-backed factions, indicating that the event will be rescheduled for a later date.

This comes after the UAE-funded factions demolished the Movement’s headquarters for the Al-Waadi residents in Radum in mid-August.
