Global Sumud Flotilla sets sail today to break Israel’s Blockade of Gaza

BARCELONA, Aug. 31 (YPA) -The Global Sumud Flotilla is set to sail today from the Spanish port of Barcelona toward the Gaza Strip, carrying activists from 44 countries in a renewed effort to break the Israeli blockade imposed on the territory.

Flotilla spokesperson Saif Abu Kishk said: “We will work tirelessly until the siege is broken and the genocide in Gaza ends.”

Regarding the challenges and risks they may face on their maritime journey to Gaza, Abu Kishk said in an interview with Anadolu Agency:  “We know that “Israel” may take some violent measures against us on our way to Gaza.”

He emphasized that any potential danger they may face is incomparable to the dangers Palestinians in Gaza experience daily.

He added: “Our first message is to the people of Gaza: We arrived late, but we will never give up. We will work relentlessly until we break the siege and stop the genocide.”

As for their message to the world, Abu Kishk said: “Everyone must ask themselves: What have you done to stop the genocide? All we can do is organize ourselves and rally our efforts — this is our moral duty.”
