Gaza hospitals receive 88 martyrs, 421 injuries due to ongoing Israeli aggression within 24 hours

GAZA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced, on Sunday, that the Strip’s hospitals received 88 martyrs and 421 injuries during the past 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The ministry added that the number of victims is expected to rise as many of them remain under the rubble and in the streets, in light of the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach them due to the intensity of the bombing and the lack of capabilities.

According to the updated statistics, the total number of martyrs since October 7, 2023, has risen to 63,459 martyrs, and 160,256 injuries, including thousands of children and women.

The period extending from March 18, 2025, until today, also recorded 11,328 martyrs and 48,215 injuries.

In the context of what is known as “aid-seekers martyrs,” the ministry explained that hospitals received 30 martyrs and 166 injuries in just 24 hours as a result of repeated targeting of aid queues, bringing the total number of victims in this category to 7,248 martyrs and more than 16,600 injuries since the beginning of the aggression.

The Ministry of Health also documented the deaths of 7 new cases due to hunger and malnutrition in one day, bringing the death toll from famine to 339, including 124 children.

The Ministry confirmed that the health sector is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis as a result of the stifling blockade and the targeting of health infrastructure, warning of a worsening disaster if the prevention of entry of aid and medical supplies continues.
