UNICEF: ‘Gaza has become the most dangerous place in world for children’

GAZA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in the Gaza Strip said on Sunday that the Strip has become “the most dangerous place in the world for children”, after becoming a daily scene of massacres that prey on their lives.

Tess Ingram, the official spokesperson for the UNICEF, affirmed in a statement, that every ten minutes, a Palestinian child is killed or injured in Gaza, stressing that the scale of the tragedy was worsening with military operations continuing.

The UNICEF’s official clarified that the only way to stop the killing and maiming of children was an immediate ceasefire,” calling on the international community to take urgent action to protect civilians, especially children, who pay the heaviest price of war.

With big American and European support, the Israeli occupation’s army has been continuing, since October 7, 2023, to commit crimes of genocide, a siege, and starvation in the Gaza Strip. This has resulted in the martyrdom of 63,459 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 160,256 others, so far, in a preliminary toll.

Thousands of victims are still remained under the rubble of the destroyed buildings and on the streets, ambulances and rescue teams can’t reached.
