GAZA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, a widespread outbreak of a new strain of influenza, especially among displaced people in shelters, children, and the sick, amid difficult health conditions resulting from the ongoing blockade and genocide perpetrated by the Israeli enemy army in the Strip.
In a statement, the office explained that the rapid spread of the disease is linked to severe overcrowding in shelters, a lack of water and ventilation, and the deterioration of the health infrastructure as a result of the ongoing genocide and restrictions imposed by the Israeli enemy, exposing the most vulnerable groups to direct risks to their lives.
It pointed out that hospitals operating in the Strip are facing great difficulty in dealing with the wave of illness due to the severe shortage of medical personnel and supplies, with limited reliance on primary care and treatments without integrated treatment protocols.
