US Senate delegation arrives in Arish to inspect Rafah crossing

SANAA, Aug. 30 (YPA) – A US Senate delegation arrived at El Arish International Airport in Egypt’s North Sinai Governorate, on Saturday, as part of a visit to inspect the Rafah crossing from the Egyptian side and humanitarian aid stores.

The visit reflects an intensive Egyptian trend toward drawing up post-war arrangements in the Gaza Strip, in parallel with Cairo’s focus on restoring the negotiating track in pursuit of an agreement to release detainees and achieve a ceasefire.

The visit aims to follow up on efforts to bring aid into the Gaza Strip through the crossing.
