Egypt hosts largest military exercise in Middle East with US participation

CAIRO, Aug. 25 (YPA) – The US military announced its participation in the ‘Bright Star 2025 exercises’ with the Egyptian military at the Mohamed Naguib Military Base in western Egypt.

“US military forces will participate with the Egyptian armed forces, along with other participating nations, in the Bright Star 2025 exercises at Mohamed Naguib Military Base in Egypt, from August 28 to September 10, 2025, in a post on X, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

The CENTCOM added that Bright Star 2025 represented an extension of the strategic security relationship between Egypt and the United States, a historic partnership that plays a leading role in combating terrorism, promoting regional security, and efforts to counter the spread of violent extremism.

This came after the Egyptian military announced on Saturday the launch of the Bright Star 2025 military exercises, one of the largest joint exercises in the Middle East, in its 19th edition.
