Sirens sound in “Israel” following Yemen missile attack

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 22 (YPA) – Sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Netanya, Lod, and around 200 other towns and cities in occupied Palestine after a missile was launched from Yemen this evening, prompting millions to seek shelter.

Footage showed the Yemeni missile bypassing the Israeli interceptor missiles and successfully reaching its target.

The Israeli occupation army acknowledged that interception attempts were unsuccessful, with no interceptors managing to neutralize the projectile. As a result, air raid sirens were activated in over 200 cities and towns, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Netanya, Lod, and other densely populated areas.

Due to the incident, Israeli authorities temporarily shut down the airspace around Ben Gurion International Airport, suspending all flight takeoffs and landings.

For its part, the Zionist Channel 12 reported that the airspace at Ben Gurion Airport was closed due to the launch of a missile from Yemen.

Residents in central “Israel” reported hearing loud explosions, with some areas, including the Modi’in region,  seeing debris from Israeli interceptor missiles falling into residential yards.

Emergency medical services reported several injuries caused by panic and crowding as civilians rushed to shelters.

At least one building was damaged in Moshav Ginton, southeast of Tel Aviv, when Yemeni missile shrapnel hit it, according to Hebrew newspaper Maariv.
