Hadramout Tribal Alliance plans to recruit two brigades against Emirati threats

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 18 (YPA) – The pro-Saudi Hadramout Tribal Alliance is moving to recruit two brigades into the Hadramout Protection Factions, in response to Emirati threats against the alliance’s leaders in recent days.

Source familiar with the matter said that the alliance’s leader, Amr bin Habrish, decided to establish two brigades within the so-called “Hadramout Protection” factions.

The alliance is currently making preparations to receive recruits from the tribes in Wadi Hadramout, the sources explained.

He added that the steps taken by the alliance  were part of the implementation of so-called “self-rule” and the curbing of the plunder of Hadramout’s oil and mineral wealth.

At the beginning of August, the UAE sent military reinforcements to the Brom Mayfa’a area west of Mukalla city, led by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) head’s advisor, Abu Ali al-Hadrami, following training at the Jabal Hadid camp in Aden.
