CANBERRA, July 26 (YPA) – Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese stated that “every effort must be made to protect innocent lives and end the suffering and hunger of the people of Gaza,” describing the situation as a “humanitarian catastrophe.”
He noted that “Israel’s blocking of aid and the killing of civilians, including children, seeking water and food cannot be ignored or defended.”
Addressing the situation in the Gaza Strip in a message posted on the X platform, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrote, “The situation has surpassed the world’s worst fears. Our position is clear: every innocent life matters.”
He added, “The world has envisioned two states—Israel and Palestine. Recognizing the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people for their own state has always been a bipartisan position in Australia, and the reason the two-state solution remains a goal of the international community is that a just and lasting peace depends on it.”
