Heavy floods swept away citizen with his family in Ibb

IBB, July 19 (YPA) – Ibb province witnessed a tragic accident as a result of the heavy floods that swept through the region over the past few hours.

A citizen’s car was swept away in the Al-Mashnah stream in Ibb city, according to reports from the Civil Defense Department.

Local sources explained that the accident claimed the life of the car’s owner, Mohammed Abdullah Al-Saidi, along with his wife and two of their children. They were found following intensive searches conducted by rescue teams with the assistance of local residents.

Sources indicate that such incidents are not the first of their kind in the province. Many believe that the insistence of some citizens to cross floodwaters in their cars without regard for the risks plays a significant role in the recurrence of such tragedies.
