ADEN, July 13 (YPA) – Media sources revealed a new scandal on Saturday attributed to the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, headquartered in Ma’ashiq Palace in Aden, exacerbating the suffering of the city’s residents.
Fatihi Bin Lazraq, editor-in-chief of Aden Al-Ghad newspaper, explained in a Facebook post that the pro-coalition government is transporting crude oil from Shabwa province to the PetroMasila power plant in Aden through four stages, unusual for tenders.
He explained that the first stage involves transporting the oil via tankers from the Uqlah field in Habban District to the Al-Alam area in Shabwa. From there, the second stage begins by pumping the transported quantities via pipelines to the Noshima port overlooking the Arabian Sea in Radhum District.
The third stage involves transporting the oil from the Noshima port to other storage tanks before it is transported in the fourth stage by tankers to Aden. He expressed his surprise at this complex method, wondering why the oil was not transported directly from the Uqlah field to Aden, as was previously done.
Bin Lazraq pointed out that these measures raise suspicions of corruption and waste of public funds, raising questions about the feasibility of these tenders and the transparency of their implementation.
It’s worth noting the dire state of electricity in Aden, where power outages reach approximately 20 hours per day, with only two hours of operation for every 10 hours of outage. This comes amid the government’s inability to secure the fuel needed to operate diesel-powered power plants, significantly exacerbating the population’s suffering.
