SANAA, July 05 (YPA) – The Irish newspaper “The Ditch”, revealed a shipment of military steel from the Spanish company “Sedenor” on its way to “Israel” via the port of Barcelona on board the ship “Zim Luanda” belonging to a well-known shipping company, flying the Maltese flag.
In light of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip, the National Committee of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement called for immediate action to stop the shipment, considering that the transfer of dual-use materials constitutes complicity in the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, including genocide, apartheid, and prolonged occupation.
The movement called on civil society, labor unions, and customs in the Spanish state, Catalonia, and the Basque region to refuse to handle the shipment.
It also called on the authorities of Malta and Greece to withdraw licenses from the ship and the companies involved, and to prevent its passage through ports and territorial waters.
The movement emphasized that popular pressure is capable of disrupting the supplies that feed the killing machine, calling for the widest participation in the “Stop the Ship” campaign to hold accountable those complicit with the occupation.
