SANAA, June 18 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning forecast hot weather in the desert and coastal areas on Wednesday, with maximum temperatures ranging from 39 to 44 degrees Celsius.
In its weather forecast, the center said that scattered rains would fall on parts of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhalea, Bayda, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, as well as the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts.
It pointed out the maximum temperatures would range between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius on coastal areas, with active winds reaching 30 to 40 knots on the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts.
The center called on citizens in desert and coastal areas to take away from direct sunshine during the afternoon.
It also warned seagoers, fishermen, and ship captains of rising seas and rough conditions in the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern coast, and the entrance to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
