Armed clashes erupt between Ubaida tribes, coalition’s factions in Marib

MARIB, June 04 (YPA) – Armed clashes erupted between members of the Ubaida tribes and Islah Party militants in Al-Dhamin and Al-Rakah areas, east of Marib Governorate, which are under the control of pro-coalition factions, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries on both sides, according to informed sources in the governorate.

According to the sources, the armed clashes between Islah Party militants and the Ubaida tribes, in which all types of light and heavy weapons and artillery were used, resulted in the closure of the Marib-Hadramout road.

The sources stated that Islah Party militants attacked the Ubaida tribes because Al Rashid Manif and Al Jalal tribes, members of the Ubaida tribe, prevented oil trucks from entering the Safer oil facility.

This was due to the Islah militants’ refusal to release trucks belonging to the two tribes following a decision by the Chief of Staff of the pro-coalition government forces, Saghir bin Aziz, to stop stone shipments from the Al-Juhaili quarry that belongs to the tribes.
