GAZA, June 01 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” condemned on Sunday the decision by Israeli occupation’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to ban the call to prayer in mosques inside occupied Palestine, considering it a dangerous escalation and a provocation of Muslim sentiments.
The movement explained that these directives represent part of the ongoing Israeli violations against Palestinians and their religious and national identity.
Hamas warned of the repercussions of this decision, considering it a violation of international conventions guaranteeing freedom of worship and the protection of holy sites. It emphasized that “the ongoing Israeli attacks on Palestinians and their mosques will not pass without a response and will ignite waves of popular anger.”
The movement called on the Palestinian people inside occupied Palestine to escalate their popular movement in defense of mosques and holy sites in the face of the racist policies of the occupation.
Hamas affirmed its commitment to the Palestinian people’s right to protect their holy sites, stressing that “the occupation’s measures will not change the reality or legitimize its policies.”
