HADRAMOUT, June 01 (YPA) – A massive fire engulfed a popular market in the city of Tarim in Hadramout Valley, which is under the control of the coalition in eastern Yemen, on Sunday.
A local source confirmed that the fire broke out in the middle of the Tarim qat market, causing material losses to citizens’ property, without mentioning the causes behind the fire.
Tongues of flames rose inside the market, amid accusations that a number of influential people opposed to the sale of qat in Tarim were behind the incident.
Many citizens rushed to extinguish the fire with water and dirt and control it after strenuous efforts due to the lack of a Civil Defense fire truck in the city.
