MAHRA, May 27 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition-backed forces suppressed on Tuesday a protest against power outages in Mahra province, eastern Yemen.
Members of the Saudi-funded “Dera Al-Watan” factions, along with security forces, assaulted protesters near the oil company in the city of Al-Ghaydah, the provincial capital.
Protesters from Al Ghaydah vowed to escalate their protests against the coalition-backed government and Saudi-backed forces, denouncing violations, deteriorating living conditions, and rising fuel prices.
This escalation comes days after “Dera Al-Watan” factions kidnapped activist Najem Mohammed Za’banot in Qishn district for documenting suspicious Saudi movements in the region to prevent the truth from being revealed.
