Update on US dollar, Saudi exchange rates in Aden, Sanaa

SANAA, May 13 (YPA) – The dollar exchange rate in Aden province on Tuesday recorded 2,559 Yemeni riyals for sale and 2,545 riyals for purchase, while the Saudi riyal exchange rate was 671 riyals for sale and 669 riyals for purchase.

It is worth noting that the dollar has witnessed a continuous rise since the beginning of last April, increasing by more than 285 riyals, and the Saudi riyal by 70 riyals.

Observers have warned of the risk of an economic catastrophe in Aden due to the instability of exchange rates and the catastrophic collapse of the currency. This negatively impacts the livelihoods of citizens who suffer from poverty and tragic social conditions due to the corruption of the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

In Sanaa, foreign currency exchange rates witnessed complete stability thanks to the financial and banking measures taken by the Central Bank to maintain the stability of the currency.

The Central Bank of Yemen in Sanaa published its daily circular on the upper limit for the main currency selling prices. The prices came as follows: The Saudi riyal = 140 Yemeni riyals, the US dollar = 530.50 Yemeni riyals, and the US dollar = 3.79 Saudi riyals.
