Abu Obeida: We have decided to release Zionist soldier Edan Alexander today

GAZA, May 12 (YPA) -The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, have decided to release Zionist soldier Edan Alexander, who holds US citizenship, today (Monday), May 12, 2025.

This came in a tweet posted by the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida.

Earlier in the day, sources within the Hamas movement indicated that the military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, would issue a statement confirming the time of Alexander’s release.

According to the sources, Hamas demanded a complete halt to all military operations in Gaza during the handover process.

They also noted that the transfer of Edan Alexander would take place without any public or military ceremonies.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that Israeli occupation forces, which continue their assault on Gaza, were informed that a ceasefire to facilitate the release of Edan Alexander would begin at 12:00 p.m.
