Israeli occupation forces demolish Palestinian home near Hebron

WEST BANK, May 12 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished a Palestinian home on Monday morning in the town of Idhna, west of Hebron.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli bulldozers tore down the home of citizen Alaa al-Batran in the Soba area, east of the town.

The house had been inhabited for ten years and sheltered a family of seven. In addition to the demolition, Israeli occupation forces also razed surrounding fences and land.

Sources noted that the Soba area falls within “Area C,” which constitutes one-third of Idhna’s total land.

The occupation is reportedly seeking to forcibly displace residents from their land to make way for colonial expansion.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission monitored the Israeli occupation authorities’ implementation of 73 demolition operations during the month of April, targeting 152 facilities, including 96 inhabited homes, 10 uninhabited homes, 34 agricultural facilities, and others.

The operations were concentrated in the Tubas governorate with 59 facilities, the Hebron governorate with 39 facilities, and the Jerusalem governorate with 17 facilities.
