‘Health crisis in Gaza has worsened dramatically since March 2’: MSF

GAZA, May 09 (YPA) – Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said “the health crisis in Gaza has worsened dramatically since March 2, 2025.

MSF said in a report that no humanitarian or medical aid was allowed into the Strip by decision of the Israeli occupation authorities. This has led to a severe shortage of essential supplies, especially fuel, which is essential for operating generators in hospitals and providing minimal healthcare amid the mounting number of serious injuries.

“In one of the bloodiest nights in weeks, at least 33 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in violent airstrikes targeting Gaza City and its surroundings yesterday evening, just meters from a medical center operating in the area, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health,” the report stated.

The organization, whose teams are operating on the ground, said its crews responded to a large influx of wounded, treating 28 patients who were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, including two of its medical staff members who were injured in the bombing.

Palestinians have been killed and injured in large numbers as the Israeli occupation forces intensify their attacks across the Gaza Strip. The lack of accountability is shocking,” said Claire Manera, MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza. “We are at a loss for words as more lives are crushed every day.”
