LONDON, May 01 (YPA) – The “Stop the War Coalition” in Britain accused Keir Starmer’s government on Thursday of bringing shame by supporting what it described as genocide in Palestine and the continued bombing of Yemen.
In a statement issued today, the coalition stressed that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is pushing the United Kingdom towards a new war without any justification or parliamentary approval.
The statement added that the Yemeni blockade of the Red Sea is in support of the Palestinian people, who, according to them, are facing genocide with British support.
It also pointed out that the reason behind regional instability and the threat to the economic security of families in the United Kingdom does not lie in Yemen. In concluding the statement, the coalition emphasized that Britain’s arming of Israel in the Gaza war is pushing the region towards an escalation that brings the possibility of a wider war in the Middle East closer.
The Stop the War Coalition, known for its opposition to wars, was founded in September 2001 and includes members of the British House of Commons, along with 40 peace organizations, trade unions, left-wing parties, and some Islamic organizations.
