GAZA, May 01 (YPA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported on Thursday that approximately 660,000 children in the Gaza Strip are not receiving any school education due to the war.
The UN agency said in a post on the “X” website, “UNRWA remains the largest provider of emergency education services and psychosocial support in the Gaza Strip, giving children a ray of hope.”
However, it pointed to enormous challenges, explaining that “some 660,000 children in Gaza are out of school and not receiving any education due to the war.”
The resumption of Israeli shelling following the end of the ceasefire has severely affected temporary learning activities, it added.
The UN agency noted that recent displacement orders in the Strip have made it more difficult for children to access much-needed mental health support and recreational activities.
