SHABWA, May 01 (YPA) – A citizen was killed in the center of Ataq, the provincial capital of Shabwa, which is being taken by the UAE -backed armed factions in southeastern Yemen.
Source familiar with the matter said armed men from the Jayshan area of Abyan province, south of Yemen, opened fire on Masoud Ahmed Saleh Al-Mansouri on Wednesday in the center of Ataq city.
The source indicated that a motive for the assassination was tribal revenge, while the perpetrators fled to an unknown place location amidst a state of discontent due to the security chaos in Shabwa.
Ataq and the rest of Shabwa’s districts have been witnessed unprecedented security chaos since the beginning of 2016, with the Emirati-funded factions continuing to fuel the conflict between the tribes in order to maintain their control over the oil fields.
