Demonstration in South Africa demanding Egypt to open Rafah crossing

SANAA, April 28 (YPA) – Hundreds rallied in front of the Egyptian embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, on Monday, rejecting the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and demanding the opening of the Rafah border crossing and the entry of aid.

The protest rally was called for by the Federation of Islamic Communities in South Africa and a number of human rights organizations supporting the Palestinian cause to support Gaza and demand that the Egyptian regime open the crossings and allow aid to reach the people of Gaza.

Participants in the demonstration denounced the continued blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and the refusal to open the crossings, especially the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, which has exacerbated the humanitarian disaster in the Strip.

The organizers demanded that the Egyptian regime permanently open the crossings to facilitate the entry of urgent humanitarian and medical aid to more than two million Palestinians trapped inside Gaza.

The participating organizations called on members of the Islamic communities, human rights activists, and all supporters of the Palestinian cause to participate massively to express solidarity with Gaza and pressure the international community to end the blockade.
