SANAA, April 25 (YPA) – Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis took to the streets on Friday, staging mass demonstrations to show solidarity with Palestinian people in Gaza and to denounce the ongoing U.S. aggression on Yemen.
In the mass demonstrations, the participants, held under the slogan and banners “We Stand with Gaza and Resist U.S. aggression,” saw massive crowds gathering in Al-Sabeen Square in Sanaa and across other provinces.
The protesters reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast support for Palestinians and its readiness to challenge foreign aggression, and the Yemeni people will not allow the Palestinian people in Gaza to be singled out.
The demonstrators attacked the American position, accusing it of seeking to change people’s convictions through intimidation and murder, adding the US enemy has no choice but to commit crimes against civilians and target their livelihoods after failing to break the Yemeni military capabilities.
A statement from the organizers affirmed that Yemeni people are “fully prepared to sacrifice and confront global oppressors without hesitation or fear.”
The participants paid tribute to the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza and to the resistance fighters who continue to fight despite the prolonged aggression and scarce resources. They called for strengthening general mobilization and tribal activities in support of the Palestinian cause.
The protesters’ statement also called for an escalation of the economic boycott campaign, stressing the need to hold accountable any merchant who does not abide by the boycott of American and Zionist goods.
