WFP: We run out of food stocks in Gaza

GAZA, April 25 (YPA) -The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has depleted all its food stocks for families in Gaza, it said in a statement on Friday.

“Today, WFP delivered its last remaining food stocks to hot meals kitchens in the Gaza Strip. These kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days,” the UN body explained.

For weeks, hot meal kitchens have been the only consistent source of food assistance for people in Gaza. Despite reaching just half the population with only 25 per cent of daily food needs, they have provided a critical lifeline, it added.

Earlier today, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) stressed  that Israeli attacks on civilian targets in the Gaza Strip are “illegal and constitute a war crime.”

OHCHR stated, in a statement, that the stockpile of food aid in Gaza is rapidly depleting, putting the residents of the Strip at risk of starving to death.
