Russia condemns American attack on port of Ras Issa in Yemen

 MOSCOW, April 24 (YPA) – Russia condemned the US attack on the port of Ras Issa in Yemen, deeming it unjustified, and affirmed its continued efforts to find peaceful solutions to the Yemeni crisis.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that stability in the region requires negotiations leading to a political consensus that includes all Yemeni forces, including the Ansarallah movement.

Zakharova stressed the need to stop the violence and urge restraint, warning against an escalation of the conflict.

 On April 17, a US attack targeted the oil facility at the port in Hodeida, causing widespread destruction and killing and wounding more than 250 civilians, which was considered a challenge to international law.
