HADRAMOUT, April 12 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia has posted its first comment on Saturday on the Hadramout Tribal Alliance’s declaration of autonomy in the provicne, taking away from of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s control.
Saudi activist Saad bin Mohammed Al-Omari said in a post on the “X” platform, mocking the STC, the time of dependency, domination, kidnapping, and spending corrupt political money was over.
“Hadramout is facing a new challenge across the entire Yemeni geography,” he added, describing the tribal meeting as historic, amidst deep concern among STC’s leaders and activists.
The Tribal Alliance held up a joint photo of Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman alongside the Alliance’s head, Amr bin Habrish, indicating that Saudi Arabia was behind the declaration.
The Alliance meeting declared “self- autonomy,” considering it the minimum entitlement of the people of Hadramout, amid demands for Saudi Arabia to take urgent steps to achieve these outcomes.
It called for the armed escalation on the ground and its recruitment of thousands of tribesmen to achieve Hadramout’s rights, ignoring the political parties loyal to the coalition.
