GAZA, April 12 (YPA) -The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reiterated on Saturday its confirmation that all basic supplies in Gaza are running out as a result of the continued closure of crossings by the Israeli occupation army.
“It means babies, children are going to bed hungry. Every day without these basic supplies, Gaza inches closer towards very, very deep hunger,” UNRWA added.
UNRWA stated: “After six weeks of Israeli siege, food stocks are nearly exhausted and bakeries have closed,” warning of an imminent risk of famine in the Gaza Strip.
The agency called for immediate action to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian crisis.
On March 2, “Israel” shut all crossings into Gaza, blocking relief aid, food, medical supplies, and commercial goods, while reneging on previous agreements. This comes amid human rights warnings that Palestinians in Gaza are facing actual starvation.
With US support, the Zionist occupation entity has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in over 160,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded—most of them children and women—and more than 14,000 missing persons.
