WASHINGTON, April 08 (YPA) – Microsoft fired on Monday two employees who objected to the company’s provision of services to the Israeli occupation in committing genocide and massacres against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
American CNBC network said in a report an employee-representative group, confirmed that Vaniya Agrawal, a software engineer in the artificial intelligence department, and Ibtihal Aboussad, a software engineer in the company’s AI division, were fired after they protested the use of Microsoft’s AI to the Israeli occupation.
The company’s sent a letter to Aboussad stating that her termination was based on “willful misconduct, disobedience, or deliberate violation of duties,” noting that her behavior was “to attract attention and disrupt the expected effectiveness to the greatest extent possible.”
As for Agrawal, she was notified that her resignation, which she had planned to submit on April 11, was effective “immediately.”
