GAZA, March 25 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces targeted, on Monday evening, one of the offices of international organizations operating in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip.
The occupation forces admitted firing on a building belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the city.
The occupation forces said in a statement that their forces operating in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, opened fire earlier at a building after spotting suspects there and sensing a threat to the force.
The statement added that after an examination, it was found that the monitoring was incorrect and that the building belonged to the Red Cross, and that the incident would be investigated, as it claimed.
For its part, the International Committee of the Red Cross announced that one of its offices in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, was damaged by a shell on Monday, but no injuries were reported.
The International Committee said in a statement that it strongly condemns the attack on its headquarters, adding that the attack directly affects its ability to operate.
It’s worth noting that the United Nations previously announced that the shelling of its compound in Gaza last week came from an Israeli tank.
