Meeting holds to discuss process of preservation antiquities in Saada

SAADA, July 24 (YPA) – Saada Governor Mohammad, Jaber Awad, held a meeting on Monday to discuss with the Chairman of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities, Mohammed Fares, the measures to preserve the antiquities of the old city of Saada.
The officials reviewed the difficulties facing the work of the Office of Antiquities and Historical Cities and ways of finding solutions to erosion problems , irregularities and random construction as well as the damaging of many houses as a result of air raids waged by Saudi-led coalition.
The Chairman of the Authority explained that the old city of Saada, is of a historical and cultural heritage, stressing the necessity of concerted efforts of all to preserve the city, especially as it is a candidate to join UNESCO.
The meeting approved to establish a committee headed by the governor of the province to follow the needs of the old city of Saada and solve the problems that arise due to the current circumstances.
