House arrest imposed on ministers of pro-coalition government in Aden

ADEN, Mar. 16 (YPA) – The Saudi-led coalition has placed ministers of the government loyal to the coalition, headed by Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, under house arrest in the southern Yemeni city of Aden.

The coalition issued a circular last Thursday prohibiting the coalition-allied government ministers from leaving the city without prior written approval from the prime minister.

This decision was made based on direct instructions from the coalition, which emphasized the necessity of obtaining written approval from bin Mubarak for any reason for ministers wishing to leave Aden.

This measure has raised widespread questions, especially in light of recent political developments following the call by 16 ministers last week for the prime minister’s removal.

Local observers believe that these measures are a response to these demands, highlighting the political divisions among the parties loyal to the coalition.
