HADRAMOUT, March 16 (YPA) – Dozens of people rallied on Saturday in the city of Mukalla, the capital provincial of Hadramout, in protest against the head of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous al-Zubaidi.
In the rally, the protesters set fire to damaged car tires in several streets and blocked several main roads to express their rejection of the provocative armed manner in which al-Zubaidi entered Mukalla.
The participants expressed also their anger at Al-Zubaidi’s provocative visit, while the city has continued to suffer from deteriorating services, especially the electricity crisis.
Earlier in the day, Al-Zubaidi arrived in Mukalla city from Mahra, accompanied by a military force, including over 120 armored vehicles. The people of Mukalla considered this an escalation and a provocation to the province’s streets.
