Hamas: Beit Lahia massacre proves Israeli occupation’s intention to violate ceasefire agreement

GAZA, Mar. 15 (YPA) – Hamas movement affirmed that the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation army in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, represents a continuation of war crimes against the Palestinian people.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the movement explained that this massacre constitutes a dangerous escalation that reflects the occupation’s insistence on continuing its aggression and disregarding international laws and conventions.

It also noted that this criminal escalation, accompanied by deliberate killings and barbaric shelling across the Gaza Strip, demonstrates the occupation’s intention to violate the ceasefire agreement and thwart any opportunity to achieve further understandings and implement prisoner exchange agreements, defying mediators and the international community.

The movement emphasized that the escalation of the occupation’s crimes, which have claimed the lives of more than 150 martyrs since the ceasefire agreement came into effect last January, places the guarantor mediators, the United Nations, and all relevant parties before their political and legal responsibilities to halt these violations and prevent the continuation of the aggression, as well as to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable.

Hamas called on mediators to take immediate action and exert pressure on Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, to compel him to implement the signed agreements and follow through on the implementation of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange phases. Hamas held the Netanyahu government responsible for obstructing these efforts and prolonging the suffering of the prisoners and their families.
