MOSCOW, March 09 (YPA) – Joint maneuvers would be carried out between the Iranian, Russian and Chinese naval forces in the northern Indian Ocean.
According to IRNA, these joint maneuvers would be held on Monday with the participation of naval vessels of the Iranian Army and Revolutionary Guard, Russia and China, along with monitoring forces including both Azerbaijan, South Africa, the Sultanate of Oman, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Qatar, Iraq, the Emirates and Sri Lanka.
The IRAN affirmed that the 7th joint naval maneuvers would aim to raise the level of security and sustainable maritime cooperation in the North Indian Ocean region, as well as to strengthen relations between the Iranian naval forces and their Russian and Chinese counterparts in the field of planning and implementing joint naval operations.
The maneuvers also aim to embody the Iranian Navy’s international prowess, enhance its professional capabilities in the fields of training and implementing joint maneuvers, and develop the country’s naval diplomacy.
