RAMALLAH, Mar. 06 (YPA) – Human rights organizations concerned with prisoners’ affairs in Palestine announced on Thursday the martyrdom of prisoner Ali al-Batsh from Jabalia camp in the Negev desert prison, bringing the number of martyred prisoners since the beginning of the genocide war to 62.
The Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club explained in a joint statement that al-Batsh was martyred on February 21, 2025, in Soroka Hospital, days after he was transferred from the Negev prison.
The statement confirmed that his martyrdom is added to the list of victims who died due to systematic crimes in the Israeli occupation prisons since the beginning of the war.
Al-Batsh, who has been detained since December 25, 2023, is married and has six children, according to the statement.
The statement added that the occupation is not satisfied with killing detainees but is procrastinating in revealing their fate and continues to detain their bodies, deliberately manipulating its responses about their fate.
