One worker killed, another injured in building’s collapse in Sanaa
SANAA, Feb. 25 (YPA) – A worker was killed and another was injured due to the collapse of a hanger in a construction site in the Sha’ub District in the capital, Sanaa, while they were carrying out pits on the ground adjacent to the hanger.
The Civil Defense Department stated that the rescue and ambulance teams rushed to the site and managed to recover the two workers from under the rubble.
The accident resulted in the death of citizen Naseem Abdullah Shamsan Al-Barashi—25 years old—as a result of his injuries, and the citizen Bakil Ahmed Nasser Awad—45 years old—suffered a fracture in his right leg and moderate wounds.
The Civil Defense Authority called on all works offices in the capital, Sanaa, and provinces to adhere to safety procedures and not permit excavation work without proper coordination with competent authorities to prevent similar incidents.
