Aden witnesses angry protests against pro-coalition authorities

ADEN, Feb. 24 (YPA) – Yemen’s southern city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, witnessed a large protest for the third week in a row today, Monday, as a large number of teachers flocked to express their rejection of the difficult and deteriorating living conditions.

The demonstration that took place in the parade square in the Khormaksar area witnessed the raising of banners bearing sharp slogans that strongly criticized the inability of the pro-coalition government to address the worsening economic crises, in addition to the absence of solutions capable of limiting the decline in prices and the continuous interruption of basic services that citizens need.

The chants launched by the participants included phrases such as “Oh teacher, raise your voice.. Dignity or death”, as well as “Oh southerner, raise your voice… Dignity or death,” in addition to slogans rejecting the current authorities by saying “No legitimacy and no transitional,” referring to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council and the pro-coalition Presidential Leadership Council.

The protesters stressed the need to take urgent steps to improve living conditions and provide essential services, noting that the continued economic collapse increases the burdens on teachers and everyone whose income depends on limited salaries.
