3.6-degree earthquake recorded in Shabwa

DHAMAR, Feb. 24 (YPA) – The stations of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center in Dhamar recorded an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale in Shabwa province, southeast of Yemen, on Sunday evening.

The head of the center, Eng. Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, confirmed that the earthquake occurred at 11:54 pm, 28 kilometers northwest of the Al-Hawrah area. He stated that residents of the area and surrounding areas felt the earthquake, but he explained that no material or human damage was recorded as a result.

Al-Houthi added that this earthquake comes after the center recorded two earthquakes on Saturday in Bayda province, where the first recorded a magnitude of 1.5 degrees at 12:17 pm, while the second recorded a magnitude of 3.1 degrees at 1:03 pm.
