Libya denies Zionist claims about attempts to relocate Palestinians to Libya

TRIPOLI, Feb. 22 (YPA) – The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan House of Representatives denied the Zionist media claims regarding attempts to relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya.

The Libyan “Alwasat” website reported on Friday morning that “the Libyan Parliament denounced proposal leaked to Israeli media on the resettlement of Gaza residents in Libya”

It affirmed that ” “will not participate in any project aimed at liquidating the rights of the Palestinian people, including deportation or forced displacement schemes, whatever the circumstances and pressures.”

The committee emphasized that “Libya’s position—both its leadership and its people—remains unwavering in supporting the Palestinian cause. This includes advocating for the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions and principles of international law.”

It further warned against “any attempt to exploit regional and international conditions to promote agendas that solely serve the Israeli occupation.”

The committee stressed that “Libya has always been and will continue to be an Arab land standing firm in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”

Additionally, the Libyan Parliament called on both national and international institutions, including the “Arab League” and the “Organization of Islamic Cooperation,” to “take a clear and decisive stance against these suspicious schemes, which seek to displace Palestinians and empty the occupied territories—blatantly violating all international covenants.”
