OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The Palestinian Football Association announced, on Tuesday, the signing of an agreement to establish a field hospital in the Gaza Strip in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation.
A statement by the Palestinian Federation stated that the signing ceremony took place yesterday in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in Palestine, Issam Al-Qaddoumi, the Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara, Faed Mustafa, the Director of the Medical Department at the Football Association, Badr Aql, and representatives of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
The statement explained that the hospital will be funded by the Asian Football Confederation with the aim of supporting the health sector in Gaza and enhancing the ability of the Palestinian people to face the escalating challenges, especially in light of the great destruction that has befallen health facilities and hospitals as a result of the Israeli war of extermination.
For his part, the President of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub, expressed his thanks to the Asian Federation and its President, Salman bin Ibrahim, for this noble humanitarian gesture, which confirms the depth of relations between the two federations, according to the statement.
