MUSCAT, Feb. 17 (YPA) – The head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdusalam, met on Monday in Muscat, the capital of Oman, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Their discussions focused on recent regional developments, particularly the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza.
During the meeting, Abdusalam emphasized that Yemen is closely following the evolving regional situation. He stated that Yemen’s future stance on supporting the Palestinian cause will hinge on the other party’s full commitment to upholding the terms of the ceasefire.
Abdusalam also highlighted the necessity of strengthening coordination among concerned nations to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people and foster regional stability.
Araghchi, in turn, reaffirmed Iran’s steadfast support for Yemen’s unity and territorial sovereignty. He underlined that achieving security and stability in Yemen is crucial for promoting long-term security and development across the region.
Additionally, he commended the Yemeni government and people for their solidarity with Palestinians in resisting occupation and countering the continued crimes perpetrated over the past sixteen months by the Zionist entity in Gaza. He further noted that this unwavering support has significantly contributed to advancing the Palestinian cause and resistance, ultimately leading to a ceasefire being imposed on the Zionist entity.
