Official statistic reveals losses due to Israeli occupation crimes in Jenin

WEST BANK, Feb. 16 (YPA) – The Media Committee in Jenin city, north of the occupied West Bank, reported on Sunday that the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on the city for 27 days has caused a severe humanitarian crisis, with 25 people killed and more than 20,000 displaced.

The occupation forces have also completely or partially destroyed more than 470 facilities and homes, and stopped basic services, especially health and education, with water and electricity outages and a severe shortage of food supplies, according to a statement issued by the committee.

The committee noted Israeli military reinforcements in Jenin camp, where the occupation turned homes into barracks and opened heavy fire near a gas station. Water was also cut off from four major hospitals, depriving 35% of the city’s population of it.

The occupation arrested more than 150 citizens and carried out 153 raids and 14 air strikes, causing significant damage. The homes of martyrs in the camp were destroyed, while the committee called on the international community to intervene urgently and provide assistance to the displaced and besieged.

The statement pointed out that Israeli occupation attacks in the West Bank have escalated since the start of the aggression on Gaza, leading to the martyrdom of 916 Palestinians, the injury of 7,000, and the arrest of 14,500, according to official data.

The committee stressed that “Jenin’s steadfastness will remain a symbol of defiance in the face of the occupation.”
