Prominent preacher in Hadramout released after three years of abduction

HADRAMOUT, Feb. 10 (YPA) – The preacher Taher Hussein Al-Attas was released  on Sunday after being kidnapped for more than three years by unknown individuals in Hadramout Governorate, eastern Yemen.

Local sources reported that Al-Attas returned to his home in the city of Tarim after being abducted by an armed gang in mid-October 2021.

The sources explained that the kidnapping of Al-Attas remains a puzzling mystery, with no clear understanding of the reasons behind the abduction, the party involved in the operation, or the location where he was held during that period.

The case has raised many questions, with some accusing armed elements loyal to the Islah Party of being behind the kidnapping, although these accusations have not been confirmed by other sources.

The mysterious incident continues to draw significant attention in Yemen, with many demanding the truth be revealed and those responsible brought to justice.
