Southern military expert exposes UAE-backed STC’s “false equation”

ADEN, Feb. 07 (YPA) – The southern military expert, Khaled Al-Nasi, has highlighted the growing disconnect between the leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the citizens in Aden and other southern provinces under the Saudi-led coalition’s control.

In a post shared on the “X” platform on Thursday, Al-Nasi accused the STC leaders of capitalizing on the war in Yemen to amass wealth and power, asserting that their gains come at the expense of citizens who face increasing poverty and hunger with each passing day.

He criticized what he referred to as the “cheap rhetoric” used by the STC leaders under the guise of championing the southern cause.

Al-Nasi argued that this deceptive narrative has only exacerbated the suffering of people in Aden and across southern provinces. He also condemned government officials tied to the coalition, labeling them as “shameless thieves” and accusing them of corruption and leveraging citizens’ suffering for personal benefit.

He called on the leadership of the STC to abandon their outdated posturing and take genuine responsibility for improving the lives of those they claim to represent.

His remarks come amid mounting criticism directed at the STC over worsening conditions in Aden and other southern regions, as well as allegations of exploiting public suffering for political and personal gain.
